TaPP Courses for Commissioning Officers
June 8, 2010
The TaPP course continues to have significant impact upon providers in the health, social care and the voluntary sectors. By June 2010, twenty one students had successfully completed the course, 66 students were pursuing their studies and others are waiting to start in the Autumn. Designed to develop understanding and skills in Tendering and Procurement, the course is accredited by the Open College Network (OCN) at Level 3 with 6 credits. Although there are some similarities with the CIPs course at this level, it is not intended, in any way, to substitute for this highly regarded qualification for Procurement Officers. Rather it provides knowledge and skills which focus on tendering for public sector contracts in health, social care and the voluntary sector.
TfC are pleased to provide the TaPP course and OCN accredited qualification for groups of Commissioning Officers working in our target sectors. Full details of the course, learning outcomes and fees can be downloaded from the right of this page. The course covers tendering procedures and applications, when and how challenges occur, case law, as well as systems for tender appraisal, evaluation and award. The course is delivered within the context of purchasing within the health, social care and voluntary sectors. A major feature is consideration of the suitability of companies and organisations for tendering and contract compliance. This includes consideration of how charities and voluntary organisations can meet the requirements and be awarded contracts.
